Welcome to my journey with Neurofibromatosis type 2, known as NF2, a genetic mutation which causes numerous tumors to grow within my brain and spine. Since 2004, I have undergone radiosurgery and 3 brain surgeries for 7 brain tumors. Life with NF2 is definitely a test of faith and a challenge to keep positive. Join me on my harrowing adventure to keep active and live life to the fullest!

Seal the Deal Celebration
After signing the paperwork friday, we stopped at the Portland test rose garden to provide me an opportunity to meander around and relax. Later before leaving town, we met up with Patrick (another friend with NF2) and Jean (mother of a daughter close in my age with NF1 - her daughter had surgery on her neck with my surgeon at OHSU).
They are also members of the Portland NF endurance team. Jean formerly walked the full Portland marathon a few years ago and Patrick is a marathon runner. Jean is now coordinator and captain of the Portland NF endurance team my sister and I will be cheering on this weekend at the Portland marathon.
